Following a dry spring, hot start to summer and heavy rain events we are experiencing an outbreak of several different types of weeds around the Shire.
Council wishes to advise residents that Broadleaf weed spraying for khaki and catheads has commenced in Council managed areas.
Areas such as footpaths, parks, sports fields and other Council managed areas will be treated, with follow up inspections to be done within four weeks of spraying to try to prevent another infestation.
You can help by maintaining your yard and the nature strip at the front of your property to help prevent the spread of seed.
Remember, ‘one year's weed - seven years' seed’.
