Narrandera Shire Australia Day Planning Committee invites nominations for Narrandera Shire’s 2020 Australia Day Awards. The awards enable the Shire community to pay tribute to someone who makes you proud to be an Australian. It can be a friend, a family member, a workmate or someone you have met through a group or recreational pursuit. The awards recognise outstanding achievements during the past year or contribution to the local community over a number of years.

The categories for the 2020 Narrandera Shire Australia Day Awards are:

• Citizen of the Year
• Young Citizen of the Year (aged 16-24 on 26 January 2020)
• Senior Citizen of the Year
• Organisation of the Year

The awards will be presented at the Australia Day celebrations which will be held in Marie Bashir Park on Sunday 26 January 2020. Multiple nominations are encouraged, individuals and groups who have been nominated in previous years can be nominated again and in more than one category should they meet the criteria.

“Australia Day is our annual opportunity to reward community members who work, often without expectation of recognition, to create benefits for the whole community,” said Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka.

“If you know of any special individuals or groups who deserve to be specifically acknowledged for their contribution to the Narrandera Shire, I urge you to submit a nomination.”

All nominees will be advised of their nomination, and while the number of award recipients is limited, certificates will be given to all who are nominated. All you need to do is simply complete
a short form. Forms are available on Council’s website narrandera.nsw.gov.au, or in hard copy from:
