Our 2019 Christmas competition saw a big increase in participation of residences and businesses, building festive cheer in the community and creating a fun activity for family and friends to check out all the displays.
Council encourages residents to take part in the competition so a detailed map can be created, allowing everyone to identify where to see Christmas decorations. Each year the Narrandera Lions Club also uses the map to create a fun ride around town on the Lions train.
This year we extended the competition to include a category for Barellan residents, with many entrants eager to participate.
The winners for the 2019 Christmas Competition are:
- The Bell family for Best Lit House
- Gordon and Violet Bobbin for Best Novelty House
- Close Pharmacy for Best Business
- Twynam Street for the Best Lit Street
- Patricia Wade for the Best Barellan House
Congratulations to our winners for the best lit house, novelty house and Barellan house who each receive Shop Local vouchers worth $500 and the best business who will receive the perpetual trophy for 2020. The best street will have the Christmas competition street sign on display at the Twynam Street and Cadell Street intersection for residents and visitors alike to appreciate.
