Council Chambers
Organic Waste Collection

Council is seeking feedback from residents on the possible introduction of kerbside organics waste collection following a report to Council at the October 2020 Council Meeting.

There are two options to consider for organic waste collection services:

  • Food organics & garden organics (FOGO), which allows for the disposal of most organic wastes. This is detailed on the information sheet attached.
  • Garden organics – is garden waste such as leaves, grass clippings, branches and alike.

In addition, Council is seeking community consultation to measure the degree of acceptance to an increase in the current waste charges, should a kerbside organics collection be implemented. The estimated increase for the service would be between $100 - $165 per property, which is in addition to the current residential waste charge.

To gauge the level of community support, please complete the survey accessible at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W5FGKD2  by 4pm Friday 29 January 2021, after which a further report will be prepared for Council.
