In accordance with the Public Health (COVID-19 Public Events) Order, the Earlies Rod and Custom Club together with Council have cancelled the 2020 Easter Weekend Rod Run public events.

Narrandera Shire Council Mayor Cr Neville Kschenka said while the decision is disappointing, ensuring the safety of the public is our first priority and this decision has not been made lightly.

“It is with great regret that we must cancel the biggest event of the year for Narrandera, one that our community loves and has supported for the past 35 years.

“Accommodation providers, hospitality providers, and local businesses are all likely to experience the economic impacts of the event cancellation, but it is necessary to minimise the spread of Coronavirus.”

It is important to note that Narrandera Shire Council is not the sole organiser for all public events in our local government area and a number of other event organisers may cancel or defer events at this time.
