Narrandera Shire Council welcomes the announcement of additional restrictions easing across NSW from today, Monday 1 June.

In our Shire, residents will have access to Narrandera Shire Library, as well as the Visitor Information Centre as regional travel resumes. As facilities open, we ask that all users maintain a high level of hand hygiene and social distancing. Perspex screens have been installed at all open, public Council facilities to ensure the health and safety of our staff and customers.

Library Services

Starting today, from Monday to Friday between 10am and 11am the library will welcome the elderly, those with mobility issues and persons designated as vulnerable. This will be followed by general access for all users between 11am and 5pm. The shorter days allow for additional cleaning daily to ensure appropriate levels of sanitation remain in place for users. Saturday mornings will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

Two computers with 30-minute session increments and reduced seating are available. To assist with social distancing, we ask that you leave the Library when you have completed your transactions.

The Centrelink Rural Agency, Home Library Service, Call-and-Collect Service, free Wi-Fi and loans are all available for the community. However, Library programs and hosting groups remain unavailable at this time.

Visitor Information Centre (VIC)

We will see more travellers visiting our Shire and utilising our services as caravan parks and camping grounds begin to reopen. From today, the doors to our VIC will reopen from 10am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday welcoming a maximum of five (5) people at any time. The shorter hours also provide the ability to suitably clean the facility daily. Our team will continue to assist visitors and other users via the recently installed intercom service until 5pm.

Although not permitted to touch it, visitors will still have Big Guitar photo opportunities within the VIC. The Tiger Moth building remains closed as visitor number restrictions cannot be enforced, however viewing of the Tiger Moth is possible through the window and memorabilia is available for purchase from the VIC.

Museums

Both the Parkside Cottage Museum and Barellan Museum remain closed for the foreseeable future and Council will advise once these facilities are able to reopen.
