Narrandera Shire Council is pleased to announce PCR Building Services Pty Ltd as the successful contractor for the Lake Talbot Tourist Park unit conversion project.
This project is part of the ‘Playground on the Murrumbidgee’ Project (POMP), which was awarded $8 million in funding under the NSW Government’s Drought Stimulus Package. The Lake Talbot Tourist Park unit conversion project will include the refurbishment and transformation of an unused amenity block into two contemporary 2 bedroom units at the venue.
Local Narrandera contractor PCR Building Services Pty Ltd, with their strong ability to utilise local goods and services, will construct quality and modern units increasing accommodation options within the tourist park.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said the Playground on the Murrumbidgee is one of several new projects to receive a share of a further $41.7 million committed from the NSW Government’s $170 million Drought Stimulus Package.
“This is an enormous investment into the region and will be a boost for tourism and the local economy,” Ms Cooke said.
“Projects like this help keep money flowing through towns, particularly as we see travel to the region greatly reduced, I am incredibly pleased this contract has been awarded to a local business.”
“This is just one stage of what will be an incredible transformation as the ‘Playground on the Murrumbidgee’ comes to life.”
Mayor Kschenka said “Narrandera Shire has committed $3 million to the POMP. The tourist park is an extremely important part of our visitor attractions. It is great that we are able to use the local contractors for the project so funds are injected back into the local economy”.
Works will commence late September and are due for completion in February 2021.
