Lake Talbot Water Slides opening

Narrandera Shire Council’s Mayor Neville Kschenka together with Member for CootamundrabSteph Cooke MP officially opened Lake Talbot Water Park’s two latest features on the Saturday.

Mayor Kschenka said of the event, “The opening was a huge success with not only locals but people from across the region eager to try out the new slides and changerooms.”

“Our projects team have successfully completed two major projects during the off season working with several contractors to complete the works.”

The pool level changerooms are a welcome addition to this facility, allowing better access with modern facilities and include two universal access family rooms. Council engaged architect Rai Geddes of SunRai Designs, to design the space, and Adaptive Interiors to construct the changerooms.”

Australian Waterslides & Leisure were the principle contractors of the slides project, who utilised local services including:

  • Todd Murry Concreting; who also used many local contractors
  • Daniel Ragen; Electrical
  • Chris Walsh; Murrumbidgee Plumbing Services
  • Wayne Moore; Moore’s Landscaping
  • Cregan’s Cranes
  • Rombola Engineering
  • Narrandera Signs

“The new water slides project has modernised the facility, further enhancing Lake Talbot Water Park to be a major regional tourist attraction.”

“These projects could not be done without the assistance and part funding provided by the NSW Government through Round Two of the Stronger Country Communities Fund. Our local member
Steph Cooke MP strongly advocated on our behalf to see both projects included, recognising how beneficial it would be to our community and as a visitor attraction supporting our economy,” Mayor Kschenka continued.

Lake Talbot Water Park is open for the season until 31 March 2020.
