A tasty new Narrandera Shire Youth Advisory Council initiative is ready to start serving the community.

The Youth Food Van Project will give young residents an opportunity to gain work-ready skills and raise funds for youth projects and programs in the Shire.

The idea for the food trailer was developed during discussion at a Youth Advisory Council meeting and, after endorsing the project, they were successful in an application for funding through the Stronger Country Communities Funding Round 3.

The Youth councillors have already completed their Safe Food Handling Course in preparation for commencing operation.

They are hoping to operate at organised Council events, community events and on request from individual organisations.
